Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am supporting Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s leading breast cancer research charity. Their work is focused on four key areas – risk and prevention, early detection and diagnosis, treatment and secondary breast cancer.
So many of us have been affected by breast cancer one way or another. It may be from our own personal experience, a friend or relative or in some other way.
I am currently having treatment for Breast Cancer. 18 years ago, I developed breast cancer in my left breast and had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Unfortunately the cancer came back in a more aggressive stage 3 type in the same breast in December 2022 and spread to the lymph nodes. I have been having weekly chemotherapy since February to shrink the cancer. The treatment has been harsh and brutal with lots of horrible side effects and it has really taken it's toll on me. My chemotherapy thankfully finishes in August 2023 and I will have a left mastectomy following treatment. The Oncology team and nurses have been amazing and do a fantastic job. I feel very lucky, thankful and blessed and my faith, the wonderful support from family and friends and families I work with have given me strength and kept me positive.
