Story
We love spending time in the Scottish mountains, and this Easter we are planning to climb Ben Nevis as a family. At 4411ft, it is Scotland’s (and the U.K.’s) highest mountain. Starting at close to sea level, there is no shortcut to a lot of climbing! If the weather lets us down at Easter (surely not in Scotland!) we’ll climb it another time.
The Scottish Mountain Rescue teams provide round the clock support for emergencies in the hills and other rescue situations, and we’ve chosen Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team (our local team) as our charity of choice. They also support a number of the hill races that we enjoy. The team is run by volunteers who risk their own lives to save others and has to raise most of the funds it requires itself. It currently takes about £30,000 to cover the team’s operating expenses for one year. We’ve thankfully never needed to call them out, but are grateful knowing that they are there. We know that the team are looking to get thermal imaging cameras to help with their searches, and we hope that this fundraising can go towards that goal.
Anyway, thank you for your support, it means a lot to us, and will mean a lot to the Mountain Rescue Team too.

P.S. The platform says that "your details are safe ... they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails" and, "once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity." Sounds good to me.
