Story
Day after day, trans rights are being eroded across the globe. On Wednesday 16th April, the UK Supreme Court dealt another devastating blow by ruling that the legal definition of “woman” under the Equality Act 2010 refers exclusively to biological sex. This doesn’t just alter legal language—it sends a chilling message to trans people across the UK: that their identities are not recognised, not protected, and not valued.
In response, I’m turning to the good nature, the kind hearts, and the queer-loving fandoms around the world. Without representation of queer shows like 9-1-1, The 100, and Shadowhunters, we risk losing empathy for real-life queer people—especially trans people—who are currently in the crosshairs of a vicious, well-funded attack.
That’s why I’m aiming to raise €1,000 for Mermaids UK, a charity that provides life-saving support for transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse young people and their families. In a time when institutions are turning their backs, Mermaids continues to be a lifeline—offering resources, advocacy, and a sense of belonging.
This isn’t just about donations. It’s about solidarity. It’s about sending a message to trans youth that they are not alone, and never will be.
Whether you can give £1, £10, or simply share this message—every action counts.
