50k Steps for Displaced Young Christians

Take action for displaced children & young people suffering the aftermath of persecution and violence, just for being a Christian. Please help by being an active part of ACN’s #TeamRed. Have fun fundraising & make an impact ahead of #RedWednesday.

Story

I’m Fr Dominic Robinson SJ, ecclesiastical assistant to Aid to the Church in Need UK, and I’m hoping to raise £5000 by walking 50,000 steps each week, from August 26th to November 20th, that is #RedWednesday. I'll be sharing regular updates of my progress on here.

#RedWednesday is an initiative of ACN to highlight persecuted Christians and religious freedom issues around the world. On and around #RedWednesday each year churches and other public buildings are illuminated red and various awareness and fundraising events take place throughout the world and especially in the UK in our parishes and schools.

I will be thinking of children like Maryamu kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria and held captive for 9 years. When she was 16 years old, she escaped in the dead of night, walking for two days to the safety of a Church-run camp. Maryamu is being cared for and receiving counselling for trauma, having witnessed the killing spree in her village and the beheading of her brother.

Your generous donation will be matched by ACN UK. Please help us with whatever funding you can give, by taking part in #RedWednesday locally, and above all with your prayers.
