Hello and thanks for visiting my fundraising event page! :)

I am a Pakistani-Canadian triathlete and new mom to a nine-month-old. Movement has always been important to me, but my journey through 9 months of pregnancy and 9 months post-birth reinforced how much it matters for my overall well-being.

Every year, as part of an annual tradition to mark my birthday, I take on a challenge for personal growth and combine it with a community and fundraising element. This year, I am joining with Sports in Pakistan to combine two of my passions: bringing diversity to triathlons and women’s health, specifically, breast cancer through my #9in9outTriathlon .

Sports in Pakistan has a goal to raise 15M Pakistani Rupees (~70K CAD) to build 1 of 8 mammography rooms planned for the upcoming Shaukat Khanum Hospital in my hometown of Karachi (scheduled for Dec 2023).

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre has been doing incredible work providing subsidized or free cancer treatment and care in Pakistan. Over the last three decades, the Centre has established itself as one of the most credible institutions in the country. Of the thousands of patients being served by the hospital, approximately 75% receive financially supported treatment.

On July 09, I will be returning to the race course with the Ironman 70.3 in Mt. Tremblant (involving a 2KM 🏊🏼‍♀️, 90KM 🚴🏼‍♀️, 21.1KM 🏃🏽‍♀️ within a time limit of 8H30M). I hope to raise a rupee for each mile I race to build the mammography room.

As a new mom getting back on the race course, I’m petrified but also excited about this challenge. I’m especially excited because, together, we can make a difference to help detect breast cancer early and save lives - one stroke, spin and stride at a time.

The funds through the 9in9out fundraiser will be used exclusively for the completion of the mammography room at the upcoming facility in Karachi
