Story
If I am totally honest, this is something I never thought about doing!!
Imagine having a few drinks with friends and being asked if you would join them in a crazy challenge as a bit of female support and after a few gins in, thinking - yeeeahhhh why not! Then waking up and realising the huge reality of walking 62 miles which is the equivalent of Gloucester to Birmingham.... a LONG WAY!!!
I started to regret my decision, but then thought of the positives and how I could raise money for a charity that could help those that have been affected by heart issues - something that has unfortunately affected too many of my family and friends and has meant we have had to say goodbye to a few and keep an eye on others.
For those of you that know me well, you will know I also wear my heart on my sleeve, so its fitting that on the 18th May (into the 19th), I will push myself both physically and mentally to walk continuously for 100k and give my very best to raise money for The British Heart Foundation. I know my Dad, Pod and a few more will be with me in spirit to help me to cross that finish line.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps.
I hate asking for money but please, if you can make any donation at all to help me raise my target, I would be so grateful.. Thank you for visiting my page!
