The Crisis: Educational Inequality

We are seeking your urgent partnership to transform Soma Devi Maha Vidyalaya, a critical educational hub located in a rural estate area outside Kandy. Our school serves 450 determined students, many of whom come from extremely low-income plantation and agricultural families. For these children, our school is their only hope for a competitive future.

The devastating reality is that our crumbling infrastructure is actively failing our students and limiting their potential.

Where Help is Needed Most

The $1500 goal will execute our "Future-Ready Infrastructure Initiative," focusing on three crucial areas:

Non-Functional Science Lab: Our laboratory is currently empty and non-functional. Students are forced to learn science entirely from theory, unable to conduct the essential practical experiments required to pass their G.C.E. O/L exams. Your donation will fully renovate the lab structure and procure the necessary basic equipment (microscopes, glassware, etc.).

Digital Divide: We currently have only three working computers for 450 students. To prepare them for the modern job market, we desperately need to establish a dedicated IT Resource Center with 15 functional computers and reliable internet access.

Sanitation and Safety: Our existing toilet block is outdated and unsafe, directly contributing to health concerns and higher absenteeism among older female students. Funds will be used to construct one new, hygienic block, ensuring separate, safe, and private facilities for all students.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

This is not a temporary fix. Under the guidance of our School Development Committee (SDC), all funds will be managed with complete transparency. We promise to provide photographic evidence and detailed financial reports of the renovation progress. Once completed, these new facilities will be integrated into the school's maintenance plan, ensuring they serve generations of students to come.
