On 22nd July 2023, I am baldly going where many have gone before!

I have set myself the challenge of undergoing a sponsored head shave to raise vital funds for Our Space (Staffs) Ltd. This small charity, which has a special place in my heart, provides play and recreational activities for children, young people and adults with disabilities and their families. The Charity runs services from its purpose-built premises in Newcastle-under-Lyme and is heavily reliant on public funding.

Having a disability myself (Cerebral Palsy), I know how vital services like those provided by Our Space are. Being disabled can make a person feel extremely isolated and they may lack confidence when interacting with their non-disabled peers. Our Space gives people with disabilities a chance to be themselves without facing judgement, make friends and have new experiences - like riding a specialist trike for the first time. At the same time parents and carers get a much-needed break from their caring role, knowing that their child is in the safe hands of the Charity's dedicated team of staff.
