On the 14th March I’m taking on the challenge of the JURASSIC EXPRESS TRAIL RUN. It’s 21km (a half marathon) along the coast, passing Old Harry Rocks, Studland, and finishing by Corfe Castle. There will be noticeable hills, long climbs and uneven terrain so I could do with some sponsorship to keep me going and focused on such an important cause.

I am running for The Ellis Edwards Foundation and in memory of Ellis who was loved very much.

Ellis taught us that you have to continue to live life to the full, no matter what you are going through. He always had the biggest smile on his face and did everything he could to help others, even though he was going through so much himself.

Ellis was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, just before his 6th birthday. His diagnosis turned so many lives upside down. He fought cancer like a real life superhero, with bravery and dignity. He endured so much but no one could stop the cancer inside him. Sadly he passed away on 5th August 2024, shortly after finishing year 6. He was 11 years old.

Ellis’ parents are my good friends and what they have been through is unimaginable - they have shown such bravery and strength, and now they have built a charity and huge community following in his honour. They experienced first hand how little support there is for children grieving the loss of a loved one and have decided to change that.

I’m a volunteer for the Ellis Edwards Foundation at their events and fundraising days, and now I get to do my own fundraising through running. So please donate what you can. Every pound makes a difference.

The Ellis Edwards Foundation supports children grieving the loss of a sibling or parent. Through family days out, counselling, and community connection, the charity helps children and their families to process loss, build resilience, and rediscover moments of joy, together.

I support this cause with all my heart, and run for Ellis and every bereaved child who needs their help.
