Story
At Farnborough Airport, part of our community strategy is to support local charities. Shooting Star were voted for by employees as our 2025 Charity of the Year
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices support families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or whose child has died, across London and Surrey and the Farnborough and Aldershot areas. They help to make every moment count, whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months, or years.
They support families from diagnosis, to end of life and throughout bereavement, with a range of nursing, practical, emotional, and medical care. Our specialist care and support is free of charge and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
It costs £12 million a year to run Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, so it relies on the generosity of supporters to keep their services going. This is why a six-a-side football team made of from players from Farnborough Airport, Aviator Hotel and the Swan Pub have entered the Shooting Star Corporate Cup to raise money for the charity.
