Story
For the last two years I’ve been training for a bikini (bodybuilding) competition and will be stepping on stage on 27th September. It might not be in the same league as a half marathon or other sporting event, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to raise funds for local charity Freedom Community Project.
About Freedom
Freedom supports people living in poverty and helps to break the cycle by providing advice and support from several locations in North East Derbyshire. Services include emergency foodbank support and low-cost food pantry, free community cafes, mental health and housing support, and benefits and debt advice.
About Training
Bodybuilding is a lifestyle commitment, so training has been ongoing since my last show in 2023. This year, I started leaning down on 1st March, then more seriously since June, where I do strength training and cardio 6 days per week, along with a daily step goal. Everything I eat is tracked and weighed to make sure I stay in a calorie deficit.
