Story
We’re Runners and Shakers, a group of friends coming together to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
Our team - Georgie Solymar-Withers, Tanya Solymar-Withers, Jack Chisholm, Ross McVicar, Fede Mondoví, Jack Davies, Doone Boorman and Will Morris - are taking on this challenge together, and we’re a real mix of runners: from experienced ultra marathoners to people who are entirely new to running, all pushing ourselves for the same cause.
Georgie and Tanya’s mum, Gillian Lacey-Solymar, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 13 years ago. Since then, the disease has had a significant impact on her everyday life, but Gillian has faced it with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. She has even gone on to launch a podcast and movement called Movers and Shakers, helping to raise awareness, build community, and drive real change in how Parkinson’s is understood and treated - all with the ultimate goal of helping find a cure.
That’s why we’re proud to be supporting Cure Parkinson’s Trust, a charity dedicated to funding research that can slow, stop, or reverse Parkinson’s, and ultimately find a cure.
If you’re able to, we’d be hugely grateful for your support - every donation, big or small, makes a genuine difference.
Thank you so much for helping us run, shake things up, and support the search for a cure.
