Update - June 2025

Thank you all so much for the incredibly generous donations we’ve received since launching this page. We’ve been truly touched by your kindness, and every single donation means the world to us.

We wanted to share an update with you. Unfortunately Mum’s cancer returned earlier this year, and she sadly passed away in May. She faced everything with such courage and strength, and we miss her more than words can say. Mum knew we were planning to run the Oxford Half, and we’ll be running it for her — for our beautiful, brave Mum.

With just 15 weeks to go, our training is really picking up, and we’re hoping to raise even more money for this incredible cause, one that meant so much to Mum and to us.

Thank you again for all your support and generosity.

On Friday 14th June 2024, our incredible Mum was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer. Mum has undergone 4 rounds of extensive chemotherapy, a oesophagectomy and will have a further 4 rounds of chemotherapy in early 2025.

Since Mum’s diagnosis, she has shown such strength and bravery and continued to remain positive. She is a true inspiration and an amazing Mum, Wife, Mother in Law, Nana / Nanny and Sister and we are all so proud of her.

We (Fee, Dom, Jaimee, Laura and Matt) are running the Oxford Half Marathon on Sunday 12th October 2025, to raise money for the Oxfordshire Oesophageal and Stomach Organisation (OOSO). OOSO is a registered charity dedicated to supporting anyone affected by oesophageal or stomach cancer, and other serious upper gastrointestinal illnesses.

OOSO is run by volunteers who have first-hand experience of these cancers, and subsequent treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. OOSO provides friendly advice and sensitive support to patients and carers.

Donations will help to sustain the charity and support the Upper GI ward and Chemotherapy Suite at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford both of which Mum is receiving excellent care from.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

This fundraiser is a way to show our gratitude and to help OOSO continue to support those affected by Oesophageal and Stomach Cancer.

Thank you for your support!
