3 Peaks Challenge, 7 September 2023
We are a local charity that aim to to improve the lives of people in need

Story

On the 8th of September, 7 members of the team at Feldon Dunsmore are undertaking the Lake District 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Helping Hands, Warwickshire. The challenge consists of climbing to the top of three of the highest points in the Lake District on the same day including Scafell Pike. With total ascent of around 10,000 ft in less than 24 hours, this will certainly be a difficult feat to achieve.

Feldon Dunsmore feel that it is important to support our community and take pride in sponsoring a local charity each financial year. This year we have chosen to sponsor Helping Hands, Warwickshire. Helping Hands offers practical help, emotional support, and on-going mentoring to those facing issues of homelessness, domestic abuse, low-income families, addiction, and related mental health problems. Donations go towards funding soup kitchens, providing counselling sessions and ‘House2Home’ packs which supply cooking equipment, beds and more for those in need.

As property lawyers, we deal with housing transactions every day and can easily take for granted the luxury of having a roof over our head. Across Coventry and Warwickshire, homelessness has increased 106% since 2021, with national figures estimating that 3,069 people were sleeping rough on a single night in autumn 2022.

Helping Hands is a charity local to our offices in Warwickshire with their charity shop located 10 minutes down the road in Leamington Spa.

This will be a challenge and your support will be greatly appreciated.

About the charity

Through our "hand-up, not just a hand-out" approach, we provide supportive local services and opportunities, empowering those experiencing homelessness, vulnerability in housing, domestic abuse, addiction, isolation, mental health challenges, and poverty, towards more promising futures
