🏃♀️ I’m running the London Marathon for The Fire Fighters Charity 💜
After seven years of unsuccessful ballot entries, I’ve finally taken the plunge and signed up to run the London Marathon — raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.
The recent tragic deaths of two firefighters, Jennie Logan and Martyn Sadler, really shook our fire service family and gave me the push I needed to stop waiting and start doing. I wanted to turn heartbreak into something positive — to take on this challenge and raise funds for a charity that supports firefighters through the toughest times.
I’ve been in the fire service for over 8 years and have seen first-hand the incredible support this charity provides — from physical rehab to mental health services, they’re there when firefighters need help the most. I’ve seen close friends and colleagues benefit from their work, and I know how much of a difference it makes.
Running a marathon has been on my bucket list for years. I won’t pretend I’m not nervous — juggling shift work, family life, and my dog grooming business, Hawkswood Hounds, means life is already pretty full-on. But I’m determined to do this, and I’ll need all the encouragement I can get along the way.
My fundraising target is £2,500, and every penny will go directly to this amazing charity. Whether you can spare a little or a lot — or even just share this page — it would honestly means so much!
🧁🚒 Stay tuned for some fun fire station events and Hawkswood Hounds fundraising coming soon — every bit of support helps get me over that finish line!
Thank you so much for being part of this 💜
Let’s do this!
