As part of both my Bat Mitzvah journey and the Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award, I spent time volunteering in my local community. Because I love animals, I chose to volunteer at Prickles in a Pickle, a local hedgehog rescue and hospital.

Prickles in a Pickle rescues, treats, rehabilitates and releases sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs, helping to give them the best possible chance of returning to the wild. With hedgehog numbers declining across the UK, their work is more important than ever.

During my time there, I cleaned pens, weighed hedgehogs, helped with treatments, and made sure they always had fresh food and water. I learned a lot about caring for hedgehogs and the challenges they face in the wild.

I absolutely loved volunteering there. Hedgehogs are incredibly cute, and it was really rewarding to help care for them. I also enjoyed working alongside the other volunteers, who taught me so much and made me feel very welcome.
