I am raising money for Roots Sudan in order to draw attention to some of the lesser known conflicts in the world - conflicts that are equally devastating to the innocent as those that are portrayed by the mainstream media.

South Sudan has been in a state of continuous conflict since its independence in 2011. Prior to independence, the people living there have been subject to persistent humanitarian crises since gaining sovereignty from Britain in 1956.

Through this period, fluctuating levels of media coverage has contributed to occasional increases in foreign aid. However, both have declined in recent years, despite the conflict remaining as violent and destructive as ever.

I would therefore like to raise as much money as possible for this cause that risks being further forgotten by many people (and by extension their governments), to the severe detriment to the millions of blameless people of South Sudan.
