Felix and Rafe fundraiser for WDCS

Lisa-Marie Parkinson is raising money for Worcester Deaf Children's Society

Tabletop sale · 16 August 2026

Worcester Deaf Children's Society are a volunteer lead charity and are passionate about creating safe and inclusive spaces for Deaf/HOH/CODA children and their families. We put on monthly events and provide support and help for our families.

Story

Hi, it's Felix here! I'm organising a table top sale with my brother Rafe to raise money for the WDCS. As a family we have really benefitted from their help and support since my little brother was diagnosed as Deaf. They organise great events about topics like fire safety, 999BSL apps and have a great Christmas party every year. I am also a proud qualified BSL Level 1 user thanks to the course provided by WDCS. This course has given me a greater understanding of Deaf people but most importantly improved my communication with my brother massively and now we can have more of a bond with this language.

Here's a bit about WDCS from their page:

Having a Deaf child can be a lonely and daunting experience with little to no help available. WDCS provides a safe and inclusive space for parents to find the help and support they need and for Deaf/HOH/CODA children to have access to Deaf role models within the Deaf community, make friends and feel like they are part of something special. We are affiliated to the National Deaf Children’s Society which is the national charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.
