18.03.25 - Thank you so much to everybody who has supported us so far.
We are blown away! Big challenge this weekend as we tackle the famous Bruce tunnel on our training race.
Hi! We are Felix and Alice, two lower sixth students from Churcher's College. Since the start of October, we have been training every Sunday relentlessly for the famous 4-day Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race. We will be paddling 125 miles, navigating 77 locks and camping out every night until we reach Westminster in the heart of London. It will be both very physically hard and mentally challenging.
A bit about our journey: Until October we had never set foot in a K2 canoe. Through tears and sweat we have built up our endurance and strength, training in all weathers from snow to sun, becoming even closer friends.
Maddy's Mark is a charity that supports the mental health of women by building resilience, confidence and camaraderie through rugby. It is very close to our hearts, and we are delighted to be able to raise money for it. The charity was founded in memory of Maddy Lawrence, a dear friend of Alice's family and former student at Churcher’s. Maddy was brave and courageous, whose love for rugby and spirit continues to inspire us.
Thank you so much for any support that you can give, it is really appreciated and makes all the difference. Alice and Felix
