Story
Our primary school is taking part in a special fundraising walk around Wollaton Park's Lake to help raise money for Wish Upon a Star, a charity that brings joy and unforgettable experiences to children facing serious illnesses. By joining the walk, our pupils are not only enjoying the beautiful park and spending time together outdoors, but also learning the importance of kindness, empathy, and helping others. Every step they take supports a cause that brings comfort and happiness to children who truly deserve something magical.
Please sponsor us, it's a long walk but we get a biscuit and a cup of hot chocolate at the end!
Make a Wish Foundation:
Our Wish children face daily challenges and invasive treatment plans. Family time is often stripped away & during this time; playgrounds become hospitals and time with friends & family become appointments.
Our magical work aims to provide special moments of respite through positive and meaningful connection with loved ones. Whilst we are unable to cure the illnesses our Wish children and families endure, our work allows for a time of safe, inclusive child friendly fun as we unite families & give all a different focus.
Some children Wish to be a fairy princess or soldier for the day, meet celebrities or sporting heroes that range from the Red Arrows to Mary Berry and others Wish for a laptop to keep in contact with their friends and family whilst in hospital.
A Wish has the power to reignite the magic of childhood, and allow families to do what families do, be in the moment, smile, laugh and make precious Wish memories!
