Create and display a scarecrow in your garden with 10 trophies to be won this year!

This year's Sponsors are The Orange Tree and Charters in Ferring and our Charity for 2026 is Wadars Animal Rescue in Ferring. Trail the village to find all the scarecrows and find the letters on the pumpkins to make a word or two! Donations of £5 for scarecrow builders with the closing date for scarecrows being 15th October 2026. The event is from Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November. This year Stuart is taking a rowing challenge!

For every scarecrow that is built and officially registered, Stuart will row one mile on a rowing machine during Scarecrow Festival week. So, 50 scarecrows means 50 miles. If the festival reaches its target of 100, Stuart will be taking on a whopping 100 miles! Visitors will be able to follow his progress during the festival, so remember, your entry could mean another mile for Stuart!

Wadars Animal Rescue, a leading animal welfare charity and has been rescuing local wildlife and rehoming companion animals since 1969.

At Wadars they believe that animals enrich our lives: we also know that they cannot speak for themselves and need protection. Last year Wadars rescued more than 1,400 injured, orphaned and at risk birds and wildlife, and rehomed hundreds of cats, dogs and other companion animals.
