Fighting Fitness Judo Charity Golf Day · 24 April 2026

We daily see how being around horses enriches the lives of children and adults with disabilities or learning difficulties. We offer activities that can help improve confidence, skills and self-esteem, set within a supportive and friendly environment.

Story

Fighting Fitness Charity Golf Day - Supporting Park Lane Stables

At Fighting Fitness Judo, we believe that every child and adult deserves the opportunity to build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.

That belief is why we are raising money for Park Lane Stables.

Park Lane Stables is an award-winning Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) centre and registered charity that transforms the lives of children and adults with disabilities through the unique power of horses.

Every day, the stables provide a safe, inclusive and life-enhancing space where people with physical, sensory, learning and mental health challenges can build confidence, strength and independence.

Through assisted riding, carriage driving, horse care, hippotherapy and equine-based therapeutic activities, Park Lane Stables supports hundreds of individuals each year. Each experience is tailored to the individual — enabling every participant to achieve their own goals, whatever their starting point.

In many ways, their ethos mirrors our own at Fighting Fitness — but instead of judo mats, they use horses.

Founder Natalie’s mission is simple: make horses accessible to all. And for many families, the impact is profound:

⭐️ Improved balance and coordination

⭐️ Increased self-esteem

⭐️ Stronger communication skills

⭐️ Greater emotional resilience

⭐️ And, perhaps most importantly, a deep sense of joy and belonging

In an environment free from judgment, participants are not defined by their diagnosis or disability — but by what they can do.

They leave feeling capable, valued and happier than when they arrived.

Why This Charity Is So Personal To Us

Park Lane Stables has had a life-changing impact on one of our own judo families.

Jack, one of our Tigers, has Down Syndrome.

Born during lockdown and requiring extended isolation due to a lower immune system and two open-heart surgeries, Jack and his family faced immense challenges in those early years.

Almost four years ago, Jack’s mum Laura, was introduced to Natalie and Park Lane Stables.

It was the first open door offering genuine support. A safe, calm haven. A place where Jack was accepted exactly as he is.

For Laura and Andy, the stables’ mission statement

“It’s about what you can do that counts”

Changed everything. Instead of chasing expected milestones or comparing Jack to others, they began focusing on his individual progress, celebrating confidence, happiness and personal achievements at his own pace.

At Park Lane Stables, Jack’s abilities are celebrated.

Progress is measured in smiles and confidence. He can simply be himself.

The impact reaches far beyond the riding arena. Families consistently see improvements in school confidence, emotional resilience at home, and a renewed sense of hope for the future.

Jack’s family now spend as much time as they can supporting the stables — helping ensure others can access the same life-changing support they received.
