Story

Many of you have reached out asking about the most urgent areas to allocate funds. It's important to note that there isn't a definitive right or wrong choice. After conducting extensive research, I have found that the Palestinians' greatest need at present is medical assistance. The number of injuries is escalating rapidly, and hospitals are overwhelmed with patients. Time is of the essence, and we must act swiftly. I am collaborating with Salaam charity, which has local partners on the ground actively delivering vital medical aid.

Please find it in your heart to help our brothers and sisters in their most needed times.

A Message from Salaam Charity

‘We are responding to the current emergency in Gaza, where hospitals are struggling to cope with an influx of serious injuries.

The already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza is worsening, one of most densely populated areas in the world has had 6000 bombs dropped on it in the last few days thats more than what America dropped on Afghanistan in 1 year.

Power plants have run out of fuel which means Gaza is without electricity making it even more difficult to respond to those who need us the most.

After a needs assessment, we realised that the greatest need in Gaza is to support the hospitals with supplies to help save as many patients as possible.

The Palestinian Minister of Health said that hospitals in Gaza are “working beyond their capacity to treat the wounded as a result of the occupation’s aggression, and as a result the hospitals in the Strip are out of service”.

We will work closely alongside our partners on the ground to supply and support as many hospitals as possible.

Salam Charity is working with a partner called Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

Palestine have a Central Drug Store (CDS) that provides medicine and medical supplies to all the hospitals in Gaza and the West bank.

Major relief agencies like WHO ( world health organisation) provide the medicine to the CDS, and MAP. MAP have depleted all their warehouses and your donations will urgently help restock the warehouse so that the CDS can continue providing the medicine to those that need it.

Gaza according to Palestine’s Ministry of Health and WHO:

At least 1,055 Palestinians have been killed, including 260 children

More than 5,000 people injured

60% of the wounded are children and elderly

Over 260,000 people have been displaced from their homes

Israeli airstrikes hit the vicinity of the Rafah crossing, forcing it to close

123,000 people who had their homes destroyed or damaged

175,486 people are seeking refuge in 64 UNRWA schools

World Health Organization (WHO) has documented 37 health attacks

Damage to 13 healthcare facilities, and at least 15 ambulances.
