On 20th October this year I will be running the Yorkshire marathon for a relatively new charity in my home city of York called Cafe Neuro.

Currently the café runs twice a month to provide a vital support network for adults with a range of neurological conditions. The cafes provide a safe, friendly, relaxed environment for members to gain support form each other and share experiences.

The cafes are currently run by volunteers and to be able to provide capacity for growth in numbers and variety of experiences for its members they are looking to employ a part time worker to help run the groups and organise events.

The money I raise will go towards the running costs of the group and funding a support worker so that the cafe can grow to respond to the increasing needs of people living with permanent brain injury, multiple sclerosis and a variety of other conditions in York.

£1000 is a big target but it will make a huge difference to this small but important local charity.

To cover the cost of room hire to run the cafe for one year would be £385.

Other essential costs such aa insurance, phone line and additional essential room hire stand at a further £700. Please give what you feel, no amount is too small! Your support on the day is much appreciated!
