What is the Pancake Race, you ask?

Launchpad’s annual pancake race is an eggs-traordinary event, it sees local businesses don their best fancy dress, flip pancakes in relay down Broad Street and batter it out for the coveted frying pan trophy! 🏆

Our fantastic team of Kate Parry-Jones, Phillip Muya, Isabelle Blumenthal and Olivia Hammond will be looking to battle it out in the Reading Pancake Race on Tuesday 13th February, raising funds to support local homelessness charity, Launchpad Reading.

All funds raised at the Pancake Race will help fund Launchpads vital services for people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home which includes supported housing, a free drop-in service for anyone in housing crisis and their work and life skills centre.

Just to put the fundraising element into context, any funds raised by our team could go towards the following:

• £10 could help pay for urgent support at our free drop-in service so an individual in housing crisis can get the help they desperately need

• £50 can help pay for one hour of legal advice for a couple who have been threatened with eviction

• £140 can help fund four therapy sessions for a client whose poor mental health has left them with spiralling debt and at risk of homelessness

• £254 can help fund the costs of moving a family experiencing poverty into more affordable accommodation
