Cork City Marathon Fighting Blindness initiative

Cork City Marathon · 2 June 2024
Every year more and more people are diagnosed with the many causes of sight loss.
Every year, despite the progress we try to make as a society through technology, enhanced services, awareness, and treatments, the gulf widens between what we, the sighted community, experience and how the non-sighted community must experience life.
Nothing will reverse or level this more then finding treatments and cures so the non-sighted are given the chance to see.
Fighting Blindness is Ireland's leading hope and part of a global umbrella organisation working to turn the tables. Without them we will not further medical advancements the benefits of which will be seen across the world.
This year, amongst our many new team members is Anaëlle, whose sons have benefited from the type of research Fighting Blindness fund. Because of groundbreaking genetic treatment, Anaelle's little boys saw their first rainbow at 4 and 2.
If you have a spare couple of euros, pounds or dollars and are in a position to help - please, give to an organisation that provide immense support and hope to the visually impaired society.
Kind regards,
Li & J
And Cu bear - when the day comes and you are reading these. Know that you inspire our rainbows. ....AND just like Santa - rainbows leave music trails too xx
