Fundraising for the BHF as part of my DOfE award

Fin Foden is raising money for British Heart Foundation

Swimming the length of the English Channel in a 3 month period.

By raising money for the BHF as part of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award , participants are funding research that gets us closer to cures and treatments for heart and circulatory disease.

Story

Hi I’m Fin. I am currently working towards achieving the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award with my school. For the volunteering section, I have decided to do a fundraising event to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation. For this event I have chosen to swim the length of the English Chanel in a 3 month period. This is a total of 1,352 lengths in a 25 metre pool. I have been having swimming lessons since I was 4 years old and it is one of my favourite hobbies, so I feel this would be the perfect achievement for me if I can complete the challenge!

I would be very grateful if you could support me with this amazing challenge and watch my journey over the next 3 months by donating to The British Heart Foundation.

Your donations help BHF fund more ground breaking research. Help to save and improve lives of families and loved ones by making a donation today.

£2 can help researchers we fund to isolate the DNA from a patients blood sample, in the hope of finding faulty genes causing heart and circulatory diseases.

£6 can help to buy test tubes that researchers we fund use to aid their research into inherited heart conditions.

£16 could support one of our early career scientists to conduct one hour of research.

£22 provides an hour of vital support from a Cardiac Nurse to answer patients questions

£25 could help to give a researcher an hour of access to a powerful microscope helping them to see whats going on inside heart and blood vessel cells.
