Story

*Update: We initially targeted to raise £500 so having now reached £3,500 we're overwhelmed by the support and would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who has donated!

Fergus and Fin will be cycling from London to Paris, a gruelling 300-mile challenge, to raise funding and awareness for the Brain Tumour Charity.

Fergus' brother, Angus Gibson, passed away at 5 years old as a result of an inoperable brain tumour and so we have set our minds on completing the challenge in memory of Angus and to support the brilliant work of those at the Brain Tumour Charity. Many are not aware that brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40 with at least 88,000 children and adults currently estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK.

We're not seasoned cyclists but we're determined to push ourselves physically and mentally to complete the journey over 4-days. We'll be cycling from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower covering a total of 300 miles - equivalent to cycling to Scotland but we're hoping for nicer weather and fewer hills by heading south.

We plan to set off on the challenge in September but in the meantime we'll be training hard and doing our best to get accustomed to our bike seats. We welcome anyone joining us on these cycles as we prepare for the 300-mile challenge.

Any donations, the price of a single pint or even the equivalent of a coffee, all add up and can meaningfully help the Brain Tumour Charity reach its 2030 targets to:

• Double the survival rate in the UK

• Halve the harm that brain tumours have on quality of life in the UK
