We’ve signed up for Ardgowan Hospice's Firewalk 2023 taking place on Friday 27th October at the Greenock Wanderers Club.

Firewalking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot embers or stones. Fire-walking is as old as man himself, with numerous biblical references to fire-walking, the Vikings used to walk bare-foot across red hot iron bars and the Kung tribe of the Kalahari desert are a fire worshiping tribe, who dance across it and rub the hot coals over their bodies.

It is often used as a rite of passage, as a test of strength and courage, and in religion as a test of faith.
