We are taking part in Walk Together to help children with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities and rare genetic disorders take their first steps towards independence.

Every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential- but for the children supported by Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, that journey is filled with extra challenges.

For over 3.5 years Finlay received life changing early intervention, therapy and family support to help him reach milestones we had been told would be almost impossible.

The DVLCC gave Finlay physiotherapy, conductive education, speech therapy and music therapy during his time with them. Their input helped Finlay far exceed what had been predicted for him and fundraising for them remains incredibly important to us

Finlay is aiming to walk as much of the 5km with the support of his walking frame, friends and hand holds as he can. Finlay spent countless sessions building his strength until he took his first tiny independent walk at 3.5yrs old. A milestone he may still have been waiting to reach without their help.
