Machu Picchu 2024 - Amnesty UK · 27 August 2024 to 5 September 2024 ·

Students from the University of Swansea's RAG Society will be taking part in the Colombia Lost City Challenge to raise money for Amnesty International UK.

Story

I am raising money for Amnesty International UK by participating in the Machu Picchu Challenge. Amnesty International in particular interested me due to the dedication and support they offer to families involved, this interaction really spoke to me and is why I have decided to support them for my fundraising goal.

I will be trying to run 5km or bike ride 10km a day for 30 days starting in early February to challenge myself for this cause and document the progress through the Strava app and images here on this page.

On completion of my goal, I'll be hiking in high altitudes over the course of six days to reach the fabled lost Incan City. To commemorate all those affected by human rights abuses.

Your donations will help Amnesty International UK expose human rights abuses in the UK and worldwide as well as campaign for freedom and justice. Amnesty International UK works on a wide range of issues including women's rights, refugee rights, the human rights impact of climate change, and in support of individuals whose rights have been violated.

I implore any of you even if you do not donate to this page, to please visit Amnesty International UK webpage (https://www.amnesty.org.uk/issues) and read some of the stories and issues that Amnesty International UK involves itself with. So that you can depth this charity goes through to make things right.
