Story
Sudan is currently facing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, after nearly three years of war between rival military forces. Over 30 million people — around two‑thirds of the population — now need urgent aid, with millions displaced from their homes and many surviving on just one meal a day.
In fact, more people have been forced from their homes in Sudan than in Gaza, Ukraine and Iran combined, making it the largest displacement crisis in the world today. Yet despite the sheer scale of suffering, it has received far less global attention than other conflicts and is often described as a “forgotten” emergency.
The reality is devastating: widespread hunger, a collapsing healthcare system, and families forced to flee with nothing, many multiple times. Children are growing up without schools, safety, or access to basic medical care, and millions are at risk of famine and preventable disease.
To help raise awareness and support those affected, I’ll be taking on the 2.5km Swim Brighton challenge — pushing myself physically to raise funds for people who are facing unimaginable conditions every day.
Any donation, no matter the size, will go towards providing food, clean water, and emergency support to those who need it most. Thank you so much.
