Story

Finley and I are walking 30 miles together in September to help the American Cancer Society fight for a world without cancer.

We walk in honor of many friends and family members we know and love who have endured cancer. We walk in honor of the families and friends who love someone with cancer We walk in memory of many. But this month, we are especially walking for the firefighters

Fire fighter occupational cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty death in the fire service.

The CDC, American Cancer Society, and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) have been studying cancer in the fire service since 2010. Among other initiatives, they’ve created a National Firefighter Registry to track incidences and diagnoses, hoping to uncover key understandings and determine effective prevention strategies.

This September, as we celebrate Patriot Day and remember the heroism of 9/11, remember the silent dangers our fire personnel face throughout their career. Please help my little orange pup and I support this critical area of need. Every donation is greatly appreciated!

[American Cancer Society has a platinum rating on GuideStar (the highest possible).]
