Twenty years ago, I joined the start-up team at Wales Millennium Centre, firstly as Director of Theatre Programmes and then later Artistic Director.

Seven of the happiest, most challenging, most creative, and definitely most fun years of my life were spent here.

By sheer fluke I will be visiting Cardiff on the weekend of this charity fundraiser- so how could I not join in and abseil off the inscription face, whose words have shaped much of my adult life.

Please help me fundraise for WMC on their 20th anniversary, with all monies raised going to support their significant programmes of support for community and young people, including:

- Training programmes and creative opportunities for young people

- Community tickets schemes to ensure everyone has access to shows

- Support, training and space for local artists to develop their work

- A free family programme, all year round
