Many families in Uganda struggle to meet basic living costs, which directly impacts their children's ability to attend school. Your support can break this cycle of poverty and provide opportunities for generations to come.

Story

In Uganda, like everywhere, if you don't go to school, your options in life are limited. But poor families struggle with the costs of education even in the government system. A uniform, shoes, a school bag, some exercise books get a child off to a good start. Breakfast and lunch mean they can concentrate whilst at school. And school fees. These are supposed to be voluntary, but the schools are so underfunded, all children have to pay. Even the poorest. No, it's not fair.

I am raising funds to support a project to help 60 primary-aged children to attend school and 7 secondary-aged in Kashare Sub County, SW Uganda. It's a poor rural area, but there are opportunities - if you have your '3 Rs'.

KICS does a lot of other things for Kashare's schools. Find out more at www.kanaama.org.
