This May, I will be cycling across Europe from the Ukrainian border to Abernethy Barcaple in Scotland, with the aim of completing the journey in six weeks.

Please help a Ukrainian child enjoy two weeks of respite, joy and adventure.

“Having returned home, I constantly remember the trip, it gave me new strength and mood… I will remember it for the rest of my life!”

For Ukrainian children and young people many have been robbed of their childhoods and face risk of physical injury, mental trauma, grief from the loss of family members, displacement and disrupted education.

While working at Abernethy Barcaple in 2024, we had the privilege, thanks to multiple fundraisers, of welcoming a group of Ukrainian children and their teachers for some much needed respite. I was asked to be one of the instructors and guides for the group and quickly built strong connections with them. Their visit left a lasting impact on my life.

The Ukrainian group visited again in 2025, but as I had left Barcaple at the end of 2024, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to see them again. Thankfully, I was able to visit briefly. While driving away, I spent time in prayer and felt deeply called to take on this challenge to help raise funds for this year’s trip (2026).

As crazy as this challenge may sound, the more I plan and pray, the more excited I become. These visits are not cheap, with costs including flights, train tickets and visas.

I know the initial fundraising target is high, but I truly believe it is achievable through your support — whether through donations or prayer. This year's target is £55000!
