Fiona and James' 500km for Mind Over Mountains

Fiona Curry is raising money for Mind Over Mountains

500km over three ultra races

Project 500 is a movement to raise £500,000 for Mind Over Mountains, to significantly grow our charity so we can support more people with their mental health across the UK, through therapeutic outdoor experiences.

Story

Mind Over Mountains is an ambitious and innovative mental health charity that enables people to thrive through therapeutic outdoor experiences. We enable people to restore and sustain their mental health and wellbeing through a highly integrated practice that brings together walking in nature, mindfulness, and professional coaching and counselling. With your help we can move mountains!

Fiona and James will be running a target of 500km over three ultra runs finishing with the 7 valleys race in September. All money raised will go directly to Mind Over Mountains, Fiona and James have paid for their race entries and any associated costs themselves.

These include:

May- the lap 151km together

September- 7 valleys 220km together

Leaving Fiona a target of the remainder 129km at her first Backyard Ultra in July, the sting, crewed by James, so a team effort.

While Fiona and James have been training hard, each of these races will be the first time they are doing them, and the longest they will have ever run. The 7 valleys will be starting early morning and running well into the night and Fiona hopes to do the same for the backyard ultra too.

Fiona and James have managed their mental and physical wellbeing through time outside and now particularly in the mountains. They will dig deep in these races hoping to raise money for others to be able to benefit from the support that Mind Over Mountains provides as part of project 500.
