Fiona's fundraiser for SwimTayka

Fiona Flo's Bali Volunteering · 27 July 2025
Many of you will know that I developed a passion for swimming, particularly open water, during Covid. Having qualified to teach adults and kids last year, I'm heading to Bali this summer to teach swimming and water safety for a couple of weeks. I'm passionate about water safety and qualified as an open water lifeguard 2 years ago and I'm part of the safety team at the lovely Taplow Lake.
I'm volunteering with Swim Tayka who work with Swimdo locally in Bali. The £1500 is to fund the programme and my accommodation in Bali but I will be funding my flights, insurance etc myself.
They are a group of young-ocean-loving-people that want to bring our love of the ocean to the children of Indonesia in a safe and responsible manner. They aim to make children safe around water. Their program addresses and protects against many causes of childhood drowning. Its mission is to protect and enrich the lives of children through aquatic education.
Since 2015 Swimdo's mission has been to protect and enrich the lives of children and their communities through aquatic education. Our team is made up of international and local professionals that have years of experience in swim instruction, CPR, water safety, oceanography, and community development.
