For Justine and I this is an incredibly special year as we are both celebrating our 60th Birthdays! We met each other in 1983 when we began our nurse training together and have stayed connected ever since. Having both achieved this massive milestone of reaching our 60th Birthdays, we wanted to celebrate by doing something very wonderful and that is where the Streetlight Trust comes in. We have both decided to volunteer and raise funds for the Christian based Streetlight Trust, so that a smaller and worthwhile charity can benefit from our celebrations. Together we will join a group of volunteers on a Mission Trip to visit the street children’s project in the Philippines called Kanlungan. We will travel out on 22nd April 2025 for two weeks to work alongside the permanent staff of the Kanlunglan orphanage, working whatever way we can to support their work.

We have set up this Just Giving Page in the hope that we can raise funds for this small but mighty charity who provide such wonderful direct help and financial support to the street children of the Philippines. We know times are financially challenging right now, so asking for your financial comes with the hope that you can donate what you can, all monies raised will go direct to the Streetlight Trust to carry on their fantastic work. Justine and I have funded our own trip to Kanlungan, so we are not asking for you to fund our trip, purely to donate financially to help these children. If you feel you could donate, please do, you would be making a difference to the lives of so many children.
