Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are walking in memory of our team mate and colleague Siobhan's niece - her story is below:
I am walking in memory of my niece Eden Smith.
At the age of just 23, Eden was diagnosed with Lymphoma and subsequently endured 2 years of gruelling treatment.
During her long illness, Eden graduated from the University of Glasgow, continued her community work with the Church and Girl Guides, and also campaigned to spread awareness of teenage and young adults cancer- encouraging young people to advocate for themselves if they feel there is something wrong.
Eden participated in the Radio Therapy Podcast series, giving an authentic unfiltered insight into the realities of being diagnosed with cancer at a young age.
Sadly, despite the hard work of the nurses and doctors at the QEUH Ward 4C, and Ward B7 at the Beatson, Eden passed away surrounded by those who loved her, on Thursday 30th May 2024.
