Story
During my uncle Guy's personal battle with pancreatic cancer he bravely elected to take part in several cutting edge treatments, the results of which not only offered him a degree of short term respite but also, he hoped, might improve the medical worlds understanding of this terrible disease that claims so many lives each year.
Sadly, as happens with the majority of sufferers battling pancreatic cancer, Guy lost his fight in 2019 leaving an unfillable void in our family & amongst his many friends.
In the UK, pancreatic cancer survival rates remain stubbornly low; a tragic situation for so many individuals together with their families & friends.
The charity Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to address this situation by supporting patients & their families, together with funding the vital research that is so necessary, if survival rates are to improve.
By running this marathon, I am hoping to inspire you to donate as generously as you feel able - so that other families with 'uncle Guy' stories have brighter, happier endings.
With love,
