Story
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
Their doctor-led critical care team delivered life-saving treatment to our dad at the remote scene of his road bike accident in Eskdalemuir Scotland in December 2023, where he lay on the road with a shattered pelvis in numerous places, several factured ribs and clavical bone requiring ICU care for numerous days.
In response to the incredible, care, attention and treatment our dad received that day by the team, myself, my sister and my mum have set ourselves two challenges to raise money for the charity.
Myself and mum will take on the Great North Run in September.
Later in October Sarah and mum will take on Glasgow half marathon together.
In doing so, we hope to raise awareness of this incredible charity, and i

mportance of wearing your bike helmet, as dads saved his head!
As a family, it was dark times, the unknown of dads recovery, we relied upon our strong family unit to keep dad battling on through the tough days to get him strong again to face the world.
Dad has been recovering well, back on his bike again, racking up the miles around his favourite routes, full of hills and beautiful countryside. Something we didnt see happening through the dark days, its amazing to him back on that saddle.
The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year* alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
Please give what you can,
Thankyou so much to the Care team for helpings dad, and to you guys for

being here, part of the journey,
Much love,
The Rogersons Family xx
