It’s been in the news a lot recently that the government is rolling out universal early years funding for many more families in the coming months. Whilst this is fantastic news for families and action I really support it could be absolutely devastating for a sector already on its knees due to years of underfunding.

Unfortunately the funding rates offered do not go anywhere near to cover the true cost of providing good quality education and childcare.

I truly believe that if we all do our bit that we can achieve great things so with this in mind I’ve decided to do some fundraising of my own by committing to a 75km sponsored walk over the Easter holidays. I hope to raise funds so that the children who attend Waterbeach Community playgroup both now and for years to come have access to high quality education, experiences and the start to their educational journey they deserve.
