Fiona's fundraiser for Bowel Cancer Australia

Hiking the Kokoda Trail · 1 September 2023
I'm attempting to hike the Kokoda Trail in September. This is a single-file 96 kilometers hike through the Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea.
I'm undertaking this challenge to honour those who lost their lives during the Second World War as well as acknowledging the wonders of modern science and medicine, plus the very skilled surgeons, in keeping me alive through my experience of cancer. I'm also doing it for those who kindly donated to my sponsored cycle in Cambodia for Bowel Cancer Australia that never happened due to the pandemic (rest assured your sponsorship was received by BCA).
I wasn't going to fundraise, but everyone has been asking to sponsor me, so it felt appropriate to set this up once again for Bowel Cancer Australia.
I've been in training since January and hope that I'll be ready by 1 September! Wish me luck!!
