Story
We did it! Thanks so much for your help - it was a brilliant night and only rained for the first part (!). It took about 3.5 hours, during which time we were cheered on by the fantastic stewards, who also provided snacks, fruit, drinks and encouragement along the route. There was such a buzz from the many people out walking on a really rainy night to support this incredible local charity, who do so much for families at the most difficult time of their lives.
I was walking for my incredible and much missed mother in law, Irene Whyton. A pocket rocket full of love and energy, Rene was a brilliant and generous host, a party starter and great company. I have so many brilliant memories of holidays together, memorable meals out, innumerable games of cards played and singing around the piano, with Tony playing. I was walking the Camino with some of these same incredible women I did the Midnight Walk with when Rene died much too soon from aggressive lung cancer in 2019.
If you had been planning to donate but haven't yet, it's not too late - the link is below. Thanks to everyone who enabled us to smash our target - your support has been brilliant and very much appreciated. xxx
