What if one conversation could save a life?
13 Mar 2018 my friend Angela did just that when she took time to answer a text that said "I'm in a really bad place atm, can you just talk at me for a bit?" A message that had been written and deleted so many times that day. I couldn't tell you a single thing we spoke about, but there can be no doubt that what she did that day changed everything, and there are no amount of 'thank you's in the world that could be enough.
Today I am lucky enough to work in the same building as some incredible people whose mission is to be there for everyone impacted by suicide; https://thecanmoretrust.co.uk/
From their own personal tragedy grew something, honestly, incredible. A group of people focussed on both suicide prevention and suicide postvention trying to make the world a safer place for those that are struggling and a more supported place for those who are bearing the grief of the aftermath.
The https://www.kyles10miles.org.uk/ is one of the most beautiful, and hilly, road races I've ever done, and it is an honour to be doing it this year to raise a little something for The Canmore Trust.
How far would you go to save a life? I'm starting with 10 miles.
