Firefighter family fun day for Fire Aid at The Willow Brook Centre

Dec Coleman is raising money for Fire Aid and International Development

Family fun day at The Willow Brook Centre · 3 October 2026

FIRE AID donates decommissioned but perfectly useable fire and rescue equipment to over 50 countries, saving it from being scrapped and recycling it to save lives overseas. All equipment donations are accompanied by expert training, delivered by volunteer fire fighters and medics.

Story

Across the globe, rescue services frequently face disasters without sufficient protective clothing, equipment, or training.

Many responders are volunteers, and some are so inadequately equipped that they wear flip-flops and T-shirts whilst responding to emergencies.

At the same time, other countries are disposing of decommissioned equipment in landfills or as scrap, despite its remaining usability.

Avon Fire Service have worked with Fire Aid for some time and I personally have helped bring three fire trucks to war-torn parts of the world where they are much needed.

As a firefighter myself I would despair if my life-saving equipment were destroyed, unusable or unavailable so I want to contribute to the amazing work of Fire Aid.

Please sponsor us for this event and join us on the 3rd October 11am-4pm to join in for a family fun day at The Willow Brook Centre Bradley Stoke.
