I'm Running the London Marathon for the Fire Fighters Charity
In April 2027, I'll be taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon to raise money for Fire Fighters Charity.
As a serving firefighter with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service based in Coleshill, the Fire Fighters Charity means far more to me than simply being a good cause. It is an organisation that stands behind every member of our fire and rescue community. Fire Fighters Charity provides timely clinical care and wellbeing support to members of the UK’s fire services and their families, helping them to adapt to physical, emotional and social challenges, to live well with conditions, injuries and illness, and to transition to life after service.
Throughout my time as a firefighter, I've seen first-hand the physical and emotional demands that come with this job. Firefighting is an incredibly rewarding profession, but it can also bring injury, trauma and the cumulative pressures that come with responding to challenging incidents. Knowing that Fire Fighters Charity is there to provide rehabilitation, mental health support and wellbeing services gives firefighters like me confidence that we never have to face those challenges alone.
Being given the opportunity to run for Fire Fighters Charity is both a privilege and a responsibility that I don't take lightly.
The London Marathon will be one of the biggest physical challenges I've ever undertaken. Months of training, early mornings, long runs and plenty of perseverance lie ahead, but every mile will be driven by the knowledge that I'm helping raise awareness and funds for a charity that supports those who dedicate their lives to helping others.
I'm proud to be running in support of a charity built on care, recovery, community and hope. My goal is to help ensure that every firefighter and member of the fire service community who needs support can access it, whenever they need it.
If you are able to sponsor me, no matter how big or small the donation, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help Fire Fighters Charity continue its life-changing work and will provide extra motivation when the training gets tough and the marathon miles start to bite.
Thank you for your support. 🚒🏃♂️❤️
