As a London based group, "Five and Dime" are proud and pleased to be supporting fundraising for the London Air Ambulance Service (LAAS).

LAAS runs as a charity and is reliant on donations. Since its inception in 1989, it has treated over 45,000 patients, with a little under 2,000 being treated last year alone and averaging five serious cases per day.

The crews aim to be airborne within 4 minutes of a call being received, and are uniquely able to get to any point within (and including) the M25 within minutes of taking off from their operational base at the London Hospital in Whitechapel.

Currently the charity are racing against time to raise £15 million to replace two of their three helicopters by 2024.

With the nature of traffic and traffic management systems in London become ever more complex and restrictive, the ability to deliver care and treatment on scene in a timely manner, together with the effective transfer of patients to appropriate specialist facilities is increasing in importance.
