Story
El Flat Cap Classico is a football fixture like no other. Two ends of the A627 gripped in competition. Well, Henry and Jacob intend to turn that on its head as they embark on 'The Flat Cap Peace Walk'.
As keen footballers and committed season ticket holders (Henry at Oldham, Jacob at Rochdale) they're bridging the 6 miles between the two clubs, alongside their team mates, to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy United.
Many of Henry and Jacob's weekly team will joint the walk, kids who every week come from all corners of the North West to play together near Trafford. CP United is a pretty special charity. It gives children and young adults a chance to build confidence, make friendships and just get on with playing football without feeling different. It means a lot to them, and it relies on funding to keep going.
They’re not pretending it’ll be a stroll. It’s a fair few miles and, with cerebral palsy, walking takes more effort and a bit more planning than most people realise. But they’re up for it. It’s the kind of challenge that’s not easy, but one they want to take on together (with plenty of stops and silliness along the way).
If you can donate, even a small amount, everyone at CP United would hugely appreciate it.
